Abstract:
This study investigates the impact of technological intervention usage on care cost reduction for children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in Vietnam, with care management efficiency as a mediating factor. The study is grounded in the Technology Acceptance Model (Davis, 1989) and the Diffusion of Innovation Theory (Rogers, 2003), which explain how perceived usefulness and innovation diffusion influence the adoption and effectiveness of digital health technologies in healthcare delivery. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 128 caregivers of children diagnosed with ADHD who had experience using technological interventions such as telemedicine, mobile health applications, and online support platforms. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) via SmartPLS 3 and SPSS 27 for T-test and One-way ANOVA test. The results indicate that technological intervention usage significantly enhances care management efficiency, which in turn leads to greater care cost reduction. In addition, technological intervention usage has both a direct and indirect effect on reducing care costs, confirming the partial mediating role of care management efficiency. These findings suggest that digital health technologies contribute to economic value creation not only through direct service delivery but also through improved coordination, communication, and monitoring in ADHD care. The study extends existing literature by integrating behavioral technology adoption theories with health economics and providing empirical evidence from a developing country context. Practical implications are offered for policymakers and healthcare providers seeking to improve the efficiency and affordability of ADHD care in Vietnam.
