Abstract:
This study explored the Perspective of Assessment as Learning (AaL) among grade 6 students enrolled in chosen elementary schools in the municipality of Sto. Tomas, Pampanga. Using a descriptive-correlational research method research design focused on describing and interpreting existing conditions for the quantitative design, the study surveyed 150 grade 6 students to explore their perspective when it comes to Assessment as Learning (AaL). The instrument used was an adapted survey questionnaires to collect quantitative data. The data were then analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, standard deviation, and inferential analysis like t-test and analysis of variance (ANNOVA). Based on the findings accumulated, there was a presence of Assessment as Learning (AaL) on the respondents with significantly differences according to their age and sex. There is also a significant relationship among the respondents when it comes to the different types of Assessment as Learning (AaL). The conclusion drew the essentials targeted early interventions for Assessment as Learning (AaL), while some recommendations suggest that there should be an active collaboration between schools and home for the parents to communicate and practice Assessment as Learning (AaL) for them to encourage their children at home. To summarize, this study points out that Assessment as Learning (AaL) has a great contribution to the development of the students' learning capabilities and the importance of collaborative efforts in promoting the Peer Assessment, Formative Assessment, Self-assessment, and Self-Regulated Assessment involving the teachers, students, school, and parents at home.
