Abstract:
This article proposes and substantiates a pedagogical model for developing the professional competence of primary school teachers on the basis of interactive methods. In the context of ongoing educational reform, the digital transformation of schooling, and the growing demands placed on the teaching profession, the professional competence of primary school teachers has emerged as a decisive factor in the quality of early education. The article argues that professional competence cannot be formed through the passive accumulation of knowledge; it develops most effectively when teachers themselves learn through active, dialogic, and reflective interaction. Drawing on competence-based educational theory, constructivist learning theory, and contemporary research on interactive pedagogy, the study conceptualizes primary school teachers' professional competence as a multidimensional construct integrating subject-methodological, psychological-pedagogical, communicative, digital, reflective, and moral components. On this foundation, the article presents a structural-functional model comprising target, theoretical-methodological, content, procedural-interactive, and diagnostic-result blocks, and describes the interactive methods - case analysis, role-play, pedagogical modeling, project work, professional discussion, and reflective practice - through which competence is cultivated. The findings indicate that the systematic application of the proposed model, both in initial teacher preparation and in continuous professional development, significantly enhances the readiness of primary school teachers to organize modern, learner-centered instruction. The article concludes with practical recommendations for implementing the model within the system of teacher education and in-service training.
