Abstract:
This study investigated the relationship between teachers' AI literacy and their integration of AI in instructional practices within Basic Education in Pampanga. Using a descriptive correlational research design, the study involved 150 teacher-respondents selected through purposive and snowball sampling. An adapted and validated instrument was used to measure four dimensions of AI literacy: Use & Apply AI, Know & Understand AI, Detect AI, and AI Ethics. It also assessed AI-based teaching using the TPACK framework, covering Technological Knowledge (TK), Technological Content Knowledge (TCK), Technological Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK), and Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK). Findings revealed that teachers demonstrated a generally high level of AI literacy and effective use of AI in pedagogy and content delivery. Statistical analysis showed a highly significant positive correlation between AI literacy and AI-based teaching, indicating that higher literacy levels correspond to more robust integration of AI tools in education. The study recommends continuous professional development focused on ethical, functional, and pedagogical aspects of AI to enhance teaching quality. It also highlights the need for institutional support and future research to expand the scope and depth of AI's role in education.
