Abstract:
Recent innovations in Virtual Reality (VR), the Metaverse, and intelligent systems are transforming pedagogical practices in fitness and sports education. This review synthesizes recent studies examining how these technologies influence learner engagement, skill acquisition, and instructional effectiveness. Evidence indicates that VR improves immersive learning and motor skill development, Metaverse platforms support interactive and collaborative experiences, and intelligent systems enables personalized feedback and adaptive learning. Insights from a seminar hosted by the University of Santo Tomas Institute of Physical Education and Athletics (IPEA) further illustrate how these technologies can be used effectively in teaching and learning. Challenges related to facilities, and equipment accessibility were also discussed. Recommendations for integrating these technologies into curricula are provided to enhance teaching and learning outcomes in fitness and sports education programs.
