Abstract:
:This study aimed to determine whether the use of the experimental method in teaching the theme "Objects Around Us" influenced the learning outcomes of 5th-grade students at State Elementary School (SDN) Sumbersari 3. Furthermore, it sought to assess the extent of the experimental method's effectiveness on student learning outcomes. A quasi-experimental research design-specifically the "non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design"-was employed. The study subjects were 5th-grade students at Public Elementary School (SDN) Sumbersari 3, Jember. The primary data collection method was a learning outcome test, supplemented by questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the t-test and the relative effectiveness (ER) test. The t-test results yielded an empirical t-value of 18.480, which exceeded the critical value of 2.046 (at a 0.05 significance level for a two-tailed test). Consequently, the null hypothesis was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. Thus, it is concluded that the use of the experimental method in teaching the theme "Objects Around Us" significantly influenced the learning outcomes of 5th-grade students at Public Elementary School (SDN) Sumbersari 3.
