Abstract:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as one of the most influential technologies driving digital transformation across modern organizations. Human Resource Management (HRM), traditionally characterized by labor-intensive administrative processes and subjective decision-making, has undergone substantial transformation through AI integration. AI technologies-including machine learning, natural language processing, predictive analytics, computer vision, and generative AI-have enabled organizations to automate recruitment, improve employee selection, personalize learning and development, optimize workforce planning, and support evidence-based decision-making. Despite these advantages, AI implementation introduces important challenges related to fairness, privacy, transparency, ethical governance, and employee trust. This review synthesizes contemporary literature on AI applications in HRM, discusses the major organizational benefits and implementation challenges, identifies existing research gaps, and proposes future research directions. The review concludes that AI should be viewed as a strategic capability that complements rather than replaces human expertise, while emphasizing that responsible AI governance remains essential for sustainable HRM practices.
