Abstract:
In differential geometry, partial differential equations (PDEs), and global analysis, differential complexes offer a crucial framework. Dual structures, also known as transposed or chain differential complexes, appear in conservation laws, boundary theory, and dual function spaces, whereas cochain complexes naturally formalize operations like exterior differentiation. Chain differential complexes, their realizations over topological vector spaces, their duality relation with cochain systems, and their main applications are all organized in this review.
