Abstract:
BRCA1 gene is tumor suppressor gene, most inherited cases of breast cancer are associated with abnormal genes BRCA1.The function of the BRCA1 genes is to repair cell damage and keep breast cells growing normally. But when these genes contain abnormities that may pass thought generations(1). This is retrospective cross sectional study was aimed to assessment of immunohistochemical expression of BRCA1 among patients with invasive ductal carcinomas using manual tissue microarray at Khartoum state in period from July 2018 to October 2018.Fourty samples of tissue blocks of breast tumor more collected. Using tissue microarray breast sections were cut stained and examined using monoclonal antibodies of BRCA1.Data were analyzed using spss version 16computer program. Result show the following 41-50 years was the most frequent age group 13(33.5%) and female above 60 years is less frequent age group 6(15.0 %). in patient aged between30-70 years, with mean age48.5 years. In immunohistochemical result showed 75% of cases positive with IHC and 25% negative. Also correlation between histological grade and expression of BRCA1 represent invasive ductal carcinomas grade (III) is most common than invasive ductal carcinomas grade (II).The study concluded that 75% of female positive affected with breast cancer and 25%of female was negative. The study recommended that all women undergo breast self examination monthly from the age of 20 and above.
