The Role of Culture in the Development of Students' Intercultural Communication Competence in English Language Teaching

Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to develop and theoretically substantiate the technology for developing students' intercultural communication skills in the teaching and learning of English. Exploring the differences and similarities of cultures through language in the educational process, social, economic, political and cultural spheres of society, linking the cultures of the English peoples with the culture of the Uzbek people in the teaching of English , the importance of intercultural communication in the development of oral and written speech in the development of students' scientific potential, its application in all spheres and in-depth study, analysis and practical application of scientific, social, political and cultural features. purpose. It has long been presumed that language and culture are seriously connected to each other and an important aspect of learning a foreign language is learning its culture. Also, the development of students' intercultural communication competences is a debatable issue in foreign language education in Uzbekistan. In this article, to offer an answer to this issue by putting forward a relationship for developing students' intercultural communication competences in English language teaching. First of all, the paper discusses the importance of culture for enhancing students' intercultural communication competences in eastern etiquette teaching. Actually, the importance of culture has a great importance in using and improving intercultural communication. As we know, there have been different definitions of culture in the educational sphere. In one definition, it is the shared knowledge and schemes created by set of people for perceiving, interpreting, expressing, impressing, illustrating and responding to social realities around them. In another definition, culture includes a system of shared beliefs, values, traditions, rituals, identity, symbols, stereotypes, customs, behaviors and artifacts that members of a society use to interact with their world and one another. In its simplest sense, culture is the learned and shared behavior of a community of interacting human beings. This article discusses the significance of culture for improving students' intercultural communication in teaching English language.
