Abstract:
This study examines the relationship between entrepreneurial rewards, specifically, revenue growth and sense of accomplishment, and corporate resilience in terms of flexibility and agility among Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Rivers State, Nigeria. Guided by a quantitative research approach and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), the study collected data from 296 SMEs. The findings reveal significant positive relationships between both revenue growth and sense of accomplishment with flexibility and agility. This suggests that both extrinsic and intrinsic entrepreneurial rewards enhance the ability of SMEs to adjust to environmental changes and recover quickly from disruptions. The study concludes that reward mechanisms should be prioritized as strategic tools for enhancing resilience in SMEs. Recommendations are made for business owners to focus on consistent revenue enhancement strategies, such as digital marketing, customer retention programs, and product diversification, as these will improve their flexibility in modifying business operations when necessary.
