Abstract:
This study aims to determine whether or not there is a relationship between the principal's academic supervision and the pedagogical competence of teachers in Public Elementary Schools in Kalidawir District, Tulungagung Regency. To achieve the research objectives, a correlational research design was used. The sample of this study was taken from the population of principals and teachers of Public Elementary Schools in Kalidawir District, Tulungagung Regency using the "Quota Random Sampling" technique. For data collection, observation, interview, documentation, and questionnaire methods were used. After the data were collected, they were analyzed using product moment correlation and coefficient of determination data analysis techniques. However, before data analysis was carried out, the data were first tested for normality and linearity. Based on the results of the data analysis, it was found that there was a moderate positive relationship between academic supervision and teacher pedagogical competence with a correlation value (r) of 0.510 and showed greater than the significance level of 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between principal academic supervision and teacher pedagogical competence in public elementary schools in Kalidawir District, Tulungagung Regency. The contribution of academic supervision to teacher pedagogical competence is 26.01%.
